The Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) is organizing the CDAC 'Ready for School' Project 2011 in collaboration with Singapore Optometric Association (SOA), BATA Shoes and Popular Book Stores on 3rd and 4th December 2011.

This year will be the 8th year that CDAC is organizing the 'Ready for School' Project.

Our role in this meaningful project is to allow recipients to purchase eye wears with CDAC vouchers in our members' shop.

Objectives

1) To show care and concern to the less privileged students under CDAC's Programs;

2) To encourage our volunteers from the various organizations to work hand-in-hand and contributing their services for a worthy cause; and

3) To encourage family bonding.

Target Recipients

Less privileged families and students under CDAC's various assistance schemes whose monthly household income are mainly below $1500. We are expecting 4,500 families (and 9,000 students) to attend the event this year.

During this event, CDAC will be giving out the cash vouchers from 9.30am to 3.00pm at CDAC premises. There will also be free eye screening for the recipients. Validity of Voucher till 31st March 2012.
